We are a small ranch, located in sunny Trinidad Colorado, dedicated to breeding quality Huacaya alpacas and committed to improving the fineness and handle of the fiber, enhancing the fleece style while maintaining correct confirmation. We are achieving our goal through the selective breeding of our exceptional girls to the top herd sires in the country.

Golden Fleece Alpacas offers a variety of luxurious high-end products including socks, hats, scarves, slippers and gloves. For the knitters and crafters, we have skeins of yarn from each alpaca available, while it lasts.
Why wear alpaca?
Rare alpaca fiber, once reserved for Incan royalty, is still prized for its superior cloud-weight softness. The fiber's hollow insulating core provides warmth with out weight. Alpaca fiber is lanolin free and does not have the "prickle" associated with wool and therefore, can be worn next to the skin. Alpaca fiber is very strong and resists piling and tearing. Fiber is available in 22 natural shades, and can also be dyed.

WHAT IS IN A NAME?
The inspiration for our name was drawn from the famous Greek legend of Jason and the Argonauts. According to the legend, when Jason came of age he was determined to claim his rightful throne, and prove he was a true hero. He and the argonauts set out on a perilous journey to find the elusive Golden Fleece. For may years they survived numerous perils and endured many hardships before finally finding the wondrous golden fleece and securing his place in history as a hero.
